Leading up to the 2012 London Summer Olympics, Isobar partnered with Samsung, an official games sponsor, to redefine how people connected with the overall Olympic Experience. Our team created the U.S. Olympic Genome Project, a Facebook application that enabled discovery, surprise, and connectivity by igniting the social graph like never before.
The Samsung Olympic Genome Project allowed fans to connect with U.S. athletes, take trivia quizzes to compete against their Facebook friends, and earn tokens for discounted Samsung products and trips to the Olympics. When a user hit “hit” on the app’s landing page, the app cross-referenced his/her Facebook profile against a database of 3,000+ athletes.
We were thrilled to see high numbers of engagement and appreciation. With more then 800K likes, the Samsung Olympic Genome Project was the most liked Facebook app at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
